Manta, 20 January, 2012
Mr. Paul Dunning
President, Long Beach-Manta Sister Cities
Long Beach, CA
Dear Mr. Dunning:
I would like to express my fondest greetings and at the same time to let you
know that the Fundacion de Salvavidas y Rescate de Mante "SALVARES" has been
incorporated as a member of the Manta-LongBeach Sister Cities Committee with the
righrs and duties that this membership entails.
At the same time, I consider it important to mention that the Fundacion "SALVARES"
has lent exceptional support to the community of Manta, cooperating with Manta's
Emergency Management Committee in safeguarding visitors to the beaches of our
city which are under the control of the mayor's office and the Port Director.
Additionally, it is opportune to express our interest that the Long Beach-Manta
Sister Cities Committee generates a positive response to this incorporation of
the Fundacion "SALVARES", by fostering cooperation with similar organizations in
Long Beach, where possible. This would will give strength to the rescue and
life-saving mission which the members of this foundation are developing in our
community and which the government of the Canton Manta is ready to implement.
With nothing further, I would like to express again my appreciation.
Sincerely,
Ing. Jaime Estrada Bonilla
MAYOR OF THE DECENTRALIZED AUTONOMOUS MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CANTON MANTA
